Monday, 20 April 2020, the President of São Tomé and Príncipe, H.E. Evaristo Carvalho, decided to extend the State of Emergency for 15 days more, from 17 of April until 01 May 2020.

This is the second extension of the Resolution of the National Assembly no. 86/XI/2020 dated 18 March 2020, as the said resolution permits continuous renewals up to a maximum period of 90 days.

The Government, who maintains the measures in force, intends to consolidate conditions for prevention, massive detection and further eventual treatments.

According to declarations of the Prime Minister and the Santomean Sanitary Authorities, up to date, there are no infected with Covid-19 in the country.
